Stef Prieto
Stef Prieto is an artist and K-12 educator based in Tallahassee, Florida. They hold a Master’s degree in art education and Bachelor’s degree in studio art from Florida State University.
Their body of work features paintings, zines, drawings, prints, and more. Prieto takes inspiration from personal experiences surrounding identity, intimacy, and the natural world. They enjoy experimenting with natural, recycled, and low-waste materials in addition to traditional painting and printmaking mediums. Their work has been featured in numerous art exhibitions and exists in several spaces permanently in the form of painted murals.
Prieto has taught watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, basic printmaking, collage, and bookmaking to students of all ages.
Their goals as both an artist and educator are to help others tap in to their creativity, and inspire connection. They strive to use art and education as tools to empower each other towards collective liberation.
