High-energy West African rhythm + movement — all levels welcome

Akofena West African Drum & Dance Class brings high-energy rhythm, movement, and cultural tradition to the Tallahassee community every Tuesday and Thursday. This immersive class teaches traditional West African rhythms alongside traditional dances, teaching the fundamentals and the cultural meanings behind the movements. Beginner, experienced dancers, and children are all welcome.

$5 per class or $20 per month. Join us and experience rhythm the way it was meant to be felt — in community.

Additional time info:

Participants may bring their own djembe or borrow one on site; barefoot recommended for dance. Students will explore traditional rhythms and choreography from Guinea and surrounding regions.
