Michael Crowne & Tallahassee Chapter NAACP

Micheal Crowne speaking at the mural unveiling and dedication for his piece “Legacy In Motion” at the Tallahassee Chapter NAACP

The spark that inspires creativity comes in many forms: music, nature, people, and society. It is believed that there is a limitless amount of sensory input that can occupy my mind before a creative thought is conjured. When Michael Crowne combines a muse with everyday thoughts, he incorporates mystery, wonder, and peace to tell a story. This need to provoke thought in today’s modern society is the motivation that drives the vehicle of my painted visions. Michael Crowne was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child, he pursued his passion for the arts through the self-study of literature in various libraries. He surrounded himself with ample amounts of poetry, science, history, music, and theory, which gave me the space and time to hone my craft. Over the years, Crowne has lived in various areas of Atlanta and embraced the creative culture that thrives throughout the city. He currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida.

You can find Michael Crowne’s mural “Legacy in Motion” at 719 West Brevard Street in Frenchtown Tallahassee at the Tallahassee Chapter NAACP Building.

Myah Freeman & Bond Community Health Center Pediatrics

Myah Freeman is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up, much of her family was spiritual. As a result, she was introduced to the meaning of Cardinal sightings: the spirit of a loved one visiting you from the Heavens. Freeman’s visitor is her father. Inspired by his absence, her personal work dove deeper into her family history and Ancestry, hence, the use of the Cardinal. In a more broad sense, the use of the symbol honors loved ones, Ancestors, and those who come before us. Her art practice involves a mixed media use of acrylic, gold leaf, fabric, and jewels. Freeman enjoys making work that is bright, bold, and regal, undoubtedly grabbing the attention of viewers.

Myah’s mural is located on the east-facing wall of the Bond Community Health Center for Women & Children. Bond Community Health Center offers an array of pediatric services. With particular concern for lower socioeconomic groups, regardless of their ability to pay, Bond provides comprehensive health services for children of all ages. Their pediatric staff strives to improve the physical, spiritual, psychosocial, and psychological well-being of the residents of Leon and surrounding counties by providing access to the highest quality comprehensive health services.

Sig Dial & 207 S Gadsden Street

Sig Dial painting her mural at 207 S Gadsden Street

SIG (Siglind Dial), artist, painter, and muralist, has been professionally painting and producing murals for over 8 years in the Minneapolis community, and is now residing in beautiful Tallahassee, Florida! She is an independent artist; however, has been contracted to work with multiple established businesses such as The Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District, The City of St. Paul, MN, and The Fillmore Minneapolis, to create both digital and traditional artworks. Her work is inspired by the bright colors of spring, while expanding upon the tactile and every-day subject of our lives. She uses bold, clean line work to juxtapose against the bright chaos of her palette. People of all ages are drawn to her almost-animated-almost-cartoon style of art, and she works to bring a smile to every single viewer’s face. She has relevant experience in using a cherry-picker to produce large-scale artwork on the sides of buildings, and great teamwork and communication skills with other artists! Collaborations are very welcome to her, as well as independent work.

You can find Sig’s mural at 207 S Gadsden Street in Downtown Tallahassee. A currently-vacant building, soon-to-be inhabited by a lucky tenant!

Lindsey Masterson & Amicus Brewing Ventures

Lindsey Masterson is the owner and creative force behind Pen and Tool, a design studio known for bold, thoughtful visual storytelling. With a background in art direction and project management, Lindsey transforms big ideas into visually compelling solutions that resonate. Her work is rooted in curiosity, craft, and a deep love of design. When she’s not creating, she’s often exploring new recipes, road-tripping, or camping under the stars—with a cat (or two) never far behind.

Amicus Brewing Ventures is a story crafted by four families with a love of fellowship, adventure, and beer. Their roots trace back from over a decade of exploring campgrounds, state parks, beaches, mountain retreats, and of course, all those breweries in between. With every destination they nurtured a deep appreciation for that sublime feeling of sitting around a table drinking great beers, in a welcoming space, with friends engaged in lively conversation. Invigorated, they finally committed to offer their version of this experience to the Tallahassee community and all of the wonderful people that cross its path.
