South Arts is offering Professional Development Grants for Arts Organizations to nonprofit and governmental arts organizations in multiple states for professional development initiatives.
The deadline for this grant is ongoing. Applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the professional development start date.
The maximum award for this grant is $1,000.
Eligible applicants are arts organizations based within South Arts' nine-state service area, with a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), and with operating budgets of $500,000 or less that are also one of the following: tax-exempt nonprofit; an official unit of local, county, or state government, or a federally recognized tribal community. Applicants may be film, visual arts, performing arts, traditional arts, literary arts, or multidisciplinary arts organizations.
Funds are intended to support the professional development needs of Southern arts organizations for increasing organizational capacity to achieve long-term sustainability, growth, and/or operational stability. This can include arts administrators', board members', or organization-wide participation at professional development opportunities and events and related travel, registration, or other expenses. These opportunities should be "first time" and relate to the applicant's arts programming/services.
Restrictions include: organizations based outside of South Arts' nine-state service area, fiscally sponsored organizations, for-profit businesses, individual artists, and non-arts organizations are ineligible to apply; projects must take place between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027; organizations must be able to provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match.
